About Us
WHAT IS TAFFED?
Welcome to Tanzania Food For Education (TAFFED). We are a registered non-profit NGO, operating in accordance with its governing Constitution and Laws of Tanzania.
Since March 2019, we have been working on programmes focused on nourishment of children attending public schools in the Kigamboni district.
We currently provide > 30,000 meals every month with a 5 year goal of providing > 100,000 meals a month by 2025.
At TAFFED, we have set out to create sustainable programs that work towards ensuring every child has access to nutritious food in their schools, enabling them to maximize their educational potential and allowing them to use education as a tool to rise out of poverty.

MEET OUR TEAM
Zohayr Mohammed
Chairperson
TAFFED was the brainchild of Zohayr, the incumbent Chairman. He is a seasoned professional and a Certified Pilot with a BSc in Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Accounting from the University of Houston, Texas-USA. He has extensive experience in operating and managing large scale operations in various industries.
Adnan Mohammed
Executive Secretary
Adnan is the Executive Secretary at TAFFED. He has an MASC in Oil & Gas Engineer from Canada and a BASC in Nuclear Engineering from Texas, USA. Adnan is also NEBOSH (UK) Certified in Occupational Health and Safety IGC 1, 2 & 3. He has extensive experience in working with large teams and getting the best out of limited resources.
Mufaddal Dawoodbhai

Juzar Sachak
Board Member
Juzar serves as a Board Member of TAFFED. Besides being a businessman, he has over 13 years of senior management experience working for various USAID projects. He also holds a BSC in Botany and Chemistry from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is an expert in value chain management, project management, project monitoring and evaluation.
Moiz Hassanali
Board Member
Moiz serves as a board member of TAFFED. He oversees the day-to-day accounting and financial activities for the NGO. He has more than 15 years of experience in the field of accounting and finance and has served as a finance manager for reputable companies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce specialising in costing, tax law procedures and practices from the university of Pune.
Hamisi Mwesimba
Honorary Member
Hamisi is an honorory member at TAFFED. He holds a Degree in Adult Education with over 14 Years of experience in Public Education. He is currently the Head Teacher of Mkamba Primary School where the first food program was born. He has been instrumental in bringing people together and making the projects a success. He is actively involved on a day-to-day basis.
In Loving Memory
Zeenat Mohammed - Inspiration, Founder, Board Member
In early 2021, we sadly lost Zeenat Mohammed.
Zeenat oversaw the logistics and procurement at TAFFED, besides serving as a board member. Though semi-retired, her previous experience included working for DHL Tanzania as the Country Services Manager for 21 years and Country Operations Manager for FedEx for 5 years. A holder of a BSc in Microbiology & Chemistry from Bombay University, India, her presence at TAFFED is sorely missed.
We miss you Zeenat, but we continue to drive your vision forward with TAFFED.
